Barry J. Make, MD, is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver. Dr. Make is Co-Director of the COPD Program and COPD Translational Research Initiative and Director of Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Respiratory Care at National Jewish Health in Denver.

Dr. Make received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his medical internship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, and his internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor. Dr. Make performed fellowships in Pulmonary Medicine at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, and Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Make is an abstract reviewer for the American College of Chest Physicians Annual Meeting and the American Thoracic Society International Conference. He is also an Editor for COPD: Journal of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Dr. Make is a member of several professional societies, including the American Thoracic Society, American Association for Respiratory Care, and is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He has co-authored over 75 articles for scientific and medical journals, including American Journal of Respiratory Critical Care Medicine, Chest, Respiratory Care, and COPD: Journal of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. He has also authored and co-authored numerous abstracts and presented on COPD on numerous occasions.
